Business. Profit. To fully integrate all of these words into a successful merging you will need another word. Traffic. Every article you will find about making your site or company successful would always include the importance of generating traffic.

So, we all know that in the core of it all, traffic is the most essential thing to a successful internet based business company. Aside from ensuring that you have a great product to sell, and you have your company’s internal organization well taken core of, it would be time to get to the nitty-gritty of things, generating traffic.

If you already have a site and you want think that you’re not getting the traffic that you’re supposed to be getting, then its time to reconsider. If you are contending in these very competitive business, you should always be a step ahead of your competition, increasing your traffic flow should have been done starting yesterday.

Timing is essential, that’s an old adage known to everyone. But with generating traffic, you should always be on your toes and be a day ahead of everyone. Never think of today and tomorrow as a starting point for making your site traffic laden, it should always have been yesterday.

To help you out in generating more traffic for your site, here are some seven surefire ways to increase your traffic starting from yesterday.

1) Invest in good advertising with search engines

Google’s Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture provide great advertising schemes that are very truly popular and assures great traffic. Although with this surefire way to increase your traffic would cost some money. While some would shy away from spending money to increase traffic, it is imperative in this case to do so because Adwords and Overture is the top surefire way to increase your traffic.

You could see for yourself the success this search engine advertising methods have reaped rewards for so many companies. Lots of site feature these advertising system and many have signed on to reap the benefits. Do not be left behind. Every penny is worth it with using Google and Yahoo’s advertising.

2) Exchange or Trade Links with other sites

With exchanging links with other sites, both of you will benefit from the efforts both of you do to enhance your sites traffic. When one site features another sites link, they could provide one another with the traffic one site generates. The efforts are doubly beneficial because it would seem like both of you are working to generate more traffic. The more links traded with more sites the more traffic could be expected.

3) Use Viral Marketing

Viral marketing allows you to spread the word about your company and product without any costs or if ever low costs only. This is a marketing method that can be quite sneaky; you can attach your company’s name, product or link to a certain media such as a funny video, entertaining game, an interesting article or a gossip or buzz. With this method, people get infected with the creativity and entertainment of the medium that they will pass it on to many people.

4) Search and use proper keywords or keyword phrases for your sites content

Search engines look for certain keywords that they would show in their results page. In doing so, having the right keyword and keyword phrase is a high requirement in ranking in high in search engine results. You could write your own content or you could hire someone to do it for you.

5) Write Articles that can lead traffic to your site

Submit articles to sites that would contain the same subject that your site deals in. If you sell car parts write press releases and articles about cars and car parts. Attach your sites description and services at the end of the article as well as the link.

6) Join forums and form online communities

Capture a market and show your expertise and credibility. When you found a good foundation for your site, people will trust you and your site and will pass on to many people their trust. Traffic will certainly increase because they know that you can provide what they need.

7) Lastly, Offer newsletters.

If many people know what you are about and your existence is shared with many others, you will find a loyal traffic that can provide you with more traffic by recommendation. If you arouse the curiosity of your customers they would be pushed to help you with your traffic.

It is not enough to get people to visit your website. The most important things are to make them stay and visit again the next time they log on to the internet, and to inform other people of the existence of your website.

Here are some helpful tips you should consider when designing your website in order to make visitors come back for more:1. Your home or opening page should contain a clear explanation of what your site is all about. No one wants to waste time clicking on links and going through pages of text just to discover what your intentions are.

2. Your site must be easily navigable. A site menu at the top, bottom, or side of each page is very helpful especially for a first time visitor, especially if your site has lots of pages.

3. Your site’s content is its heart, so make sure that it has substance. The content is you talking to the visitor, so you should be concerned about making a good impression.

4. Your links should be clearly labeled. If a link leads to a guestbook, a ‘Guestbook’ name for such link is direct and straight to the point.

5. Dark text on light background is best for reading. Black text on white background is the most readable. Light on dark can work too, but it tends to be glaring for some people.

6. Your color scheme must fit the mood of the content of your site and suit your target audience. Whatever colors you use, make sure that they all go with each other. Clashing colors can be a major eyesore.

7. For uniformity purposes, the pages’ layout must be the same with one another unless it is completely necessary to break the pattern.

8. Make sure that your layout that is viewable for all screen resolutions. Avoid too-long and too-wide pages so that people with bigger screen resolutions would not have to scroll up-down and side-to-side.

9. A page with graphics, animation, Flash movies, and music takes more time to load than one without. If you bombard your site with these accessories, many visitors will not hang around and wait for the pages to load especially if they are using dial-up connection. Besides, too much of a good thing is tacky. Use these add-ons sparingly.

10. Follow all HTML standards so your website will be compatible with commonly used browsers, namely Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla. If you can make your site viewable for most browsers, so much the better.

11. Some browsers are set not to accept plug-ins. Some are set to text-only. Whatever browser settings the visitor has, you should have made sure that the site is still aesthetically appealing in all possible circumstances.

12. If you are going to use graphics, make sure that they are of high resolution. This is especially important if you are selling products and using photos to showcase your goods.

13. Before publishing your website, road-test it first by browsing through it as if you are a first time visitor. This is the best way to sort out any kinks that would have been otherwise overlooked.

In the end, freshness is the most essential feature your site should have. The internet is highly dynamic so do not let your site get stuck in a rut. Always keep your site updated in terms of content. Enhance the aesthetics of the site every now and then.

If you think your site’s look is on its way to being outdated, do not be afraid of giving it a major overhaul. After all, makeovers seem to be the craze right now.

Article marketing has always been hailed as online advertising’s greatest strategy. For starters, if you could write your own articles, this tactic would be inexpensive. Submission to the many articles directories wouldn’t cost you a single penny.

Secondly, you’d be planting seeds that you could benefit from for many years. For as long as the article directories exist, your articles would be stored, and with them would be your links.

In hindsight, article marketing does seem like the greatest promotional technique invented for the internet. You see novice and veteran alike utilizing this strategy everyday. Whether their enterprises are mere startups, or whether they have established a profitable brand for themselves, article marketing is always at the forefront of their advertising campaigns.

What Few People Know About Article Marketing

There have been some concerns about article marketing, however, that many people haven’t resolved with finality. After all, with all the hoopla surrounding this tactic, it is easier to assume that the hype is true instead of lingering with doubts.

One such doubt is the possibility of being pinpointed by search engines for duplicate content.

If you submit an article to 100 directories, and publish the very same article in your website, will your website be penalized?

The short answer: no.

What will be penalized would be the pages housed in the article directories. Your website will be spared. This is the reason why most article directories, with the notable exception of www.isnare.com when it comes to MSN results (which can be attributed to alternative SEO techniques that website is pursuing specifically for MSN’s search engine), fare quite poorly in SERPs.

Run a search for any keyword. Will article directory pages appear in the first hundred or so pages? Most probably, they won’t.

This begs the question. What good is article marketing for, really?

The Cold Facts About Article Marketing

Let’s face it. If you’ve tries article marketing before, how many unique visitors were you able to generate? The first week would have given you 100 to 200 new visitors. 500 at most. But for the succeeding weeks? How about the succeeding months?

The point here is that if you will rely on article directories to provide for your website some direct traffic, then you might as well wish for the moon. Indeed, you’d have direct traffic coming your way, but it is by no means substantial. You will not be able to consider such sustainable for any form of online business.

So, is article marketing overly hyped?

Article Marketing, What Is It Good For?

Here’s the meat of the deal: article marketing is not good for direct traffic generation. You’d be lucky to achieve 2,000 visitors coming from the article directories within a year’s time, from one article submission.

But article marketing is great for building your link popularity, and link popularity is great for increasing your website’s page rank.

And as you may very well know, the higher your website’s page rank, the higher its position will be in the search engine results pages.

With your article submissions, you’d be able to increase your website’s number of back links on the internet. This would make it easy for search engine spiders, especially Google’s, to find, index and fetch your website for relevant search queries.

Additionally, article directories like ezinearticles.com, are favorites of webmasters and eZine publishers. If they will pick up your articles for publication in their own channels, you’ll be able to expose your website to whole new audience, and more importantly, you’d be able to increase the number of your back links even more.

This is the true power of article marketing.

If you are reading this, then it is safe to say that you are sitting in front of a computer and accessing the Internet. The Internet is a wonderful thing. You have access to everything from e-mail to online banking, from investing to shopping, watching videos and listening to podcasts and so much more.

You can literally access just about any information you want from anywhere in the world and the convenience it provides is beyond compare.

But the problem is, the Internet has also become a very dangerous place, if you’re not careful. As we do these things on a more regular basis, we open ourselves up to potential hackers, attackers and crackers.

While some may be looking to phish your personal information and identity for resale, others simply just want to use your computer as a platform from which to attack other unknowing targets. I have listed a few easy, cost-effective steps you can take to make your computer more secure and give you greater peace of mind.

1. Always make backups of important information and store in a safe place separate from your computer. The two best ways of doing this are by burning your information to a CD or DVD and the use of an external hard drive. Even then, you have to remember to put it someplace safe otherwise you defeat the purpose of making a backup

2. Always update and patch your operating system, web browser and software frequently. If you have a Windows operating system, which is by far the most popular software today, start by going to www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and running the update wizard. This program will help you find the latest patches for your Windows computer. Also go to www.officeupdate.microsoft.com to locate possible patches for your Office programs.

3. Install a firewall. Without a good firewall, viruses, worms, Trojans, malware and adware can all easily access your computer from the Internet. If you’re using the latest versions of Windows, then there’s a good chance that you will be okay with the built-in firewall program. If not, the one I always recommend his Zone Alarm. And be sure that when you’re online and never turn your firewall off.

4. Take time to ensure to verify that your browser and email settings are set for optimum security. The reason for this is that Active-X and JavaScript are often used by hackers to plant malicious programs into your computers. While almost all websites will cookie your PC, most cookies are relatively harmless in terms of security concerns, they do still track your movements on the Internet to build a profile of you. At the very least, set your security setting for the “internet zone” to High, and your “trusted sites zone” to Medium Low.

5. Install antivirus software and set for automatic updates so that you receive the most current versions. The one I recommend is AVG, free or professional version. For the most part the free version will work fine

6. This one I can’t stress enough. Never, never open unknown email attachments, even if it may come from someone you may not. A lot of times in someone’s computer has a virus on it, but it can be used to forward attachments that contain viruses. Always make sure that the attachment is something you were expecting or just delete it.

7. Never run any programs that are from unknown origins. And never send these types of programs to friends and coworkers because they contain funny or amusing stories or jokes. There’s a good chance they will contain a Trojan or a virus waiting to infect a computer. I would also mention that you should always be aware of any software that you find on a warez or filesharing site. They generally are nothing more than a packaged Trojan or virus that will immediately take over your PC once you run it.

8. Disable hidden filename extensions. By default, Windows is set to “hide file extensions for known file types”. Disable this option so that file extensions display in Windows. Some file extensions will, by default, continue to remain hidden, but you are more likely to see any unusual file extensions that do not belong. This is a good way to be able to see if there’s something that looks out of place.

9. As simple as it sounds, turn off your computer and disconnect from the network when not using the computer. A hacker can not attack your computer when you are disconnected from the network or the computer is off.

10. Consider making a boot disk, or a restore disk, in case your computer is damaged or compromised by a malicious program. Obviously, you need to take this step before you experience any problems, but you’ll feel a lot better if you do.

While there is a lot more things you can do to keep things secure, this will give you something to start with and make you more aware of the potential problems that await you when you’re online. Better safe than sorry.

If you are doing any marketing online, but I am sure that one of the things you’re doing is promoting products for other people as affiliates. The great thing about this, is you sign up for their affiliate program, then you grab some tools, like banners and ads, then you’re given an affiliate link to use.

It makes it all very simple, as all you have to do is slap your affiliate link in an e-mail, or post on your site, and when people click on that link they are taken to the marketer’s site and if they buy, then you get paid.

But here’s something I want you to consider.

How is that affiliate link affecting your sales? More to the point, how many sales do you lose by using that long, ugly affiliate link that you’ve been given?

You know the link I am talking about. It’s a long ugly string of letters and numbers, but quite frankly has a tendency to put people off. Even worse, is realizing that people are less likely to use that link, because they know it’s an affiliate link.

Let’s consider the typical ad that most people send out to promote a product. It could be something like this:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I wanted to let you know about an exciting new product that’s been put out today by a good friend of mine and a sure to solve all your marketing problems at one time. You can see for yourself, by going here:

http://www.awesomesoftware.com/rep/us.cfm?u=123456789/welcome.cgi?181/index.html

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now, let me ask you. What is wrong with this picture?

It’s pretty obvious, that ugly, obnoxious looking link that’s part of the ad.

So, what do YOU type into your browser? Do you type that big long URL in to see what it is that is being offered? I doubt it. I mean, who’s got the time to mess with it. Here’s what most people don’t type in.

http://www.awesomesoftware.com

Face it friend, you just lost a sale and you’re not in this to lose money.

There’s got to be a better way to go about doing this and fortunately there is. It’s called link cloaking.

Always link cloaking involves is setting up a special page that includes your affiliate link and redirects to the seller site. It’s very simple to do it only takes a few minutes to set up. But the advantage is that people are more likely to click on the link in your ad because it’s easy to do.

Now, let’s look at the same ad using a redirect page with your affiliate link as part of it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I wanted to let you know about an exciting new product that’s been put out today by a good friend of mine and a sure to solve all your marketing problems at one time. You can see for yourself, by going here:

http://www.myaffiliatesite.com/mb.html

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

See the link above? This is a page you created it have on your website that redirects to the seller’s website, has your affiliate link involved and if the person buys, you will get credit for the sale. And the added benefit is it keeps competing affiliates from changing your affiliate ID to theirs and them getting the sale.

Here’s how it works.

You are going to have to create a new page for your web site that invisibly forwards your visitor on to the site for the product you’re promoting. This page will have an immediate refresh rate so that as soon as your visitor clicks the link, he or she is redirected.

Here is the code you will use. Everything from <html> to </html>.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

<html>

<head>
<meta http-equiv=”refresh”
content=”0; url=http://www.awesomesoftware.com/rep/us.cfm?u=123456789/welcome.cgi?181/index.html”>
<title></title>
</head>

<body>
</body>
</html>

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now, save that page is an HTML page and using our example above, you would name it mb.html. Then, upload it to your server and you’re good to go. See how easy that was. Your affiliate link is embedded in the HTML page and will guarantee you the affiliate sale if the person buys.

Now, if you want to get really fancy, you can create the redirect as a PHP file. Here’s how you do it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

<?php
header( ‘Location: http://www.awesomesoftware.com/rep/us.cfm?u=123456789/welcome.cgi?181/index.html’ ) ;
?>

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Using the same example as above, save the page as mb.php, upload it to your server and you’re done.

So, let me ask you this. Which link is more appealing and one that people are more apt to click based on what they see.

This:

http://www.awesomesoftware.com/rep/us.cfm?u=123456789/welcome.cgi?181/index.html

Or this:

http://www.myaffiliatesite.com/mb.html – http://www.myaffiliatesite.com/mb.php

See the difference? I’ll let you decide.

Now you have to understand, that this will only work if you have your own hosted website. You should, and at some point you will need one. But the convenience it provides is priceless.

Scripts and Services

Another option you have, if you have your own hosted website, is to use a link cloaking script. The one I highly recommend is affiliate profit linker. It does basically the same thing as above, but it’s all automated and maintained from a central control panel. It’s very handy when I need to set up an affiliate link for a promotion and want to be able to track the number of clicks I get from it. You can find out more about it here:

Affiliate Profit Linker

Or if you’re in the position of not having a website, then you could always use a URL shortening service which you can find by doing a search on Google. There’s quite a few of them out there, but the downside is if you have a lot of links set up in the service goes belly up, then all your hard work and effort is lost. That’s one reason I always recommend a hosted script like I use about.

But if you decide that a URL shortening service is what you need to use for the time being, but here’s the one I use that I also highly recommend. It has a very user-friendly control panel and has a lot of nice tools like stats tracking, geo-tracking, etc. You’ll find it here:

Scrnch Me

Whatever you decide, please stop using those ugly, obnoxious affiliate links and start making sales.

If you have been online any length of time, I am sure you’ve heard said over and over “The Money Is In The List”. Building a list of subscribers with the intent of turning them into customers is the bread-and-butter of your business…

But I imagine by now, you are sick and tired of hearing then NOT being shown how to build and profit from one?

I mean, how are you supposed to build a list and profit from it if nobody shows you are nobody tells you how. You probably asked yourself, “what is it they don’t want me to know?”. Maybe a lot of people in the in the know were scared of having any competition.

The thing to remember is it’s not rocket science, but there is a process that you need to know to be able to be successful. You have to have a plan in place and follow through with it.

So let’s begin…

The Overall Strategy

The first step to any successful list building is you must set out the goal, or mission, to help others first. If you understand that people searching for information online, or subscribing to mailing lists, are looking for the answers to questions or problems they may have. You need to be the one to provide the solution and in doing so you will build a relationship with your subscribers.

Over a period of time they will come to trust you, value your opinion and be more willing to act on recommendations for products and services that you make. In other words, they will be more willing to buy from you, or through you as an affiliate, the products and services that they need. Face it, they’re going to buy from somebody, it might as well be you.

Their Success is Your Success

Your main goal has to be seeing them succeed. In doing so you will in turn succeed from your efforts. That’s why your goal can’t be just making money, but the money will come soon enough. If you come off as only wanting to profit off of your subscribers, they will quickly see this and abandon you for ever.

By helping others and having a genuine interest in wanting them to succeed will…

1) Build Friendships

2) Create A Win/Win Relationship

3) Gain Credibility As Some One to Be Listened To

4) Lay The Foundation Of Trust

5) And Ultimately Will Build VALUE

In the end, people will spend money if they feel they’re getting good value and especially, if they know that you are someone they can trust. With all the horror stories you hear on line about how people get ripped off, then the trust factor becomes that much more important.

Think about it. How many times have you heard of someone getting married after just one day. It takes time to build a relationship where you can trust that person and you know what to expect consistently. You need to let people get to know you first for the benefits listed above to start working in your favor.

That doesn’t mean you can’t build a responsive list quickly. You can if you’re willing to provide insights ideas information and special offers that show you genuinely want to help them.

Get Started Right

When you e-mail your list about something you’re promoting, or a product you have for sale, you need to be able to let them feel your confidence in what it is you’re offering. You don’t have to be pushy with it, but presented in such a fashion that if you believe it, knowing it will work and do what it’s supposed to, then they will feel confident too.

Consider the following guidelines when you write, to hopefully help to get your message across.

1) Be confident enough to excite but never over hype.

2) Have a relaxed, conversational tone.

3) Imagine you’re talking to one person.

4) Use short words, short sentences, short paragraphs – make it easy to follow.

5) Inject your own personality and avoid over used cliches in your niche.

6) Stay on topic and don’t ramble. In other words, get to the point.

7) Always keep to one or possibly two ideas in any particular message.

To put it all together, maybe the best way to look at it is to imagine yourself having a conversation with someone. You’re discussing a topic of interest that you, or both of you, are passionate about. Maybe it’s the solution the person is looking for to a problem they’re having. If you make your point in a relaxed and confident manner, then you stand a better chance of getting your point across and having that person act on your recommendation.

If you could apply that to the e-mails you send out, then you stand a better chance of gaining the trust of your readers and getting them to act on recommendations and solutions to problems they may be having.

What’s In It For Me?

The most important point to remember is that it’s basic human nature to always ask yourself, “what’s in it for me?”. It’s not so much that people are selfish, but they want to know if something will benefit them or situation there dealing with. When you present something to them, you have to ask yourself if you were in their position, how would it benefit you. If you don’t, then they will see you as uncaring and indifferent to their problems.

Face it, you do the same thing when someone is presenting something to you and want to know what benefits you will get out of it.

One Final Tip

As time goes on, and you have managed to turn your list of subscribers into a list of ready-made buyers, consider who they really are to you. I personally never refer to people as customers, I tend to think more of them as CLIENTS.

Why?

It changes the focus and feeling of the relationship to one of trust and advice. Isn’t it much better to be seen as a trusted mentor rather than someone just selling something? Too many people, especially online, come across as a used car salesman only interested in making the deal. And that truly is something you must AVOID!

If you keep in mind that building your list is all about building a relationship with your readers, in time you will see your business grow as soon see the profits come in. Like I have already said, people are going to buy from somebody, it might as well be you.

More to come…

So let me ask you something. Why is it [...]

You know, if you’re going to be doing business online, then you’re going to have to have at, one point or another, a website. The thing to remember is website will say a lot about you and the way that you’re presenting your business to the world.

So let me ask you something. Why is it some websites do so well and others fail so miserably. You know what I’m talking about, the difference between a site that draws you in and the site that makes you immediately click away.

What’s the difference? What do successful websites do right and the ones that fail do wrong?

With that in mind, you have to realize there are quite a number of common mistakes that will seal the fate on internet marketers and their dreams. Here are 6 of them, which hopefully, you’d try to avoid at all cost.

1) A Need for Speed

To me, there is nothing more irritating than a website that takes forever to load. I realize that most Internet users these days have high speed or broadband connections, but a great percentage of the rest of the world are still hooked up to the World Wide Web via slower 56K access. This is not something that should be taken for granted.

When you build your website, try to avoid very large graphic files, fancy movies or flash animation. You need a website that will deliver the information it promises at an instantaneous rate, and for this reason, you have to choose functionality over design. This is not to say, that all of these things are not to be used, but be aware of the potential problems.

2) Ease of Navigation

If your webpages are cluttered and not organized and your internal links not clearly defined, you’ll just end up frustrating your visitors and causing them to click away. You don’t want your visitors to get stuck on any one page. You need to make it easy for them to explore your website. Your pages must be clearly interlinked easily navigable that even a 7 year old will be able to understand.

Once again, it’s all about your visitors experience. It’s always best, to place your navigation links either at the top of the page right below the header, or at either side of the page in a separate column. This is where your visitors’ eyes will wander once they want to discover the other pages in your website.

3) Content Counts

It’s commonly said that content is king on the Internet. People log online to find information they need, and information is conveyed through your content. If your content is poorly written, who will have the patience to read the same? If your content is not unique, why will people choose your website over others? Indeed, there are two requisites for good quality content: excellent presentation and originality. Minus either of this, your entire website will be in jeopardy.

This is especially true for marketing website where you have to draw your visitors in and piqued their interest about what it is you’re promoting. Lose that and you lose potential customers as well.

4) Keywords Open the Doors

As important as good content is still successful website, so our having the right keywords. Keywords drive traffic to your website. Keywords are the terms that people search for when they’re looking for information. If you targeted the right keywords, quality visitors will come in droves. If you targeted the wrong keywords, visitors will be scarce. So make sure you discover the right keywords even before you start building your website.

It’s always best when putting together the content of your website, as do some research concerning the appropriate key words that you need to use for the meta-tag your website. One of the best places to do your research is located here:

Google Keyword Tool

5) Cookie Cutter Conundrum

And important aspect to consider where your website is concerned is that of originality – or the lack of it. With so many websites online, you have to stand out in the crowd. You have to shine when people visit your website. So here are some of the questions you need to ask yourself.

Why would people choose your website over thousands of others sharing the same layout and boasting of the same content? What makes your website special? If these questions cannot be answered positively, then your online business is doomed. Worse, search engines penalize duplicate content, and your website will have a lower position in the search engine results.

The best way to to avoid this is to stop trying to be like everyone else and be who you are. Figure out what makes you different or unique from everyone else and work with that. In other words, dare to be different.

6) What’s It All About

Another way to stand out in the crowd is to be focused on what your website is all about. It needs to target a specific topic and everything that’s there needs to be related to that topic. This is especially true concerning the content you provide, the related keywords you use and how it relates to information that your visitors are looking for.

If your visitors get confused on what your website is all about, then their one click away from being gone.

Ask yourself this. Why would visitors who are interested in dogs, want to see information about astronomy? It makes no sense, as there is no connection between the two subjects. I know a lot of people want to try to cram as much as they can on to a website, the better to stay focused and targeted on the information you’re providing.

Your best bet, is to have multiple websites with targeted information that are unique and stand out. This way, you stand a better chance of visitors wanting to spend time looking around your site and more importantly coming back often to see what new content has been added.

I think you get the general idea of some of the things you need to try and avoid. Your online business depends on how well your website fares. This is because those who are into blogging are people that are creative in their own sense, carefully selecting phrases that best illustrate his or her feelings, sentiments, wishes and desires.

Essentially, blogs were first launched as weblogs (refering to a ’server’s log file). It was developed when web logging entered the virtual market. Since its inception during the mid-1990s, web logging progressively saturated the virtual community making the world wide web a viable way to obtain greater information.

Nevertheless, with web logging, you still need a web site and a domain, but with blogging, you do not need anything, just an account with blog providers. In many instances,and these types of blogs are available at no cost.

With the onset of blogging on the Internet, personal journaling was a common ground for people with a desire to be known around the globe.

Normally, blogs are created for personal use. Like a diary, people might publish his or her everyday activities or sentiments, as well as anything that they want people to know about them or thier lives.

With the introduction of businesses online, blogs were gradually taken into the limelight in offering companies an opportunity to increase their income potential through the use of blogs online. This is how the business blogs have taken the limelight.

Business blogs are, fundamentally, created to advertise the services or goods of a particular website or ecommerce business with the goal of increasing online sales.

Business blogs can be a proven way of advertising the company in order that additional readers will know that a particular company existst. Along with blogs, entrepreneurs are capable of establishing a brand within the virtual marketplace through articles that may be very helpful in the reader’s life.

So, if you’re considering developing a blog, whether for business or for pleasure, you should know a few tips which might show you how to get through and make your blog among the many fascinating blogs online.

Here’s what you need to consider:

1. Think about your audience

Even though your blog is normally personal, it would be better to take into account the thoughts of your readers. You need to think about something which might interest them.

After all, many of the reasons of individuals who publish blogs would love to be ‘heard’ (or read) as well as love to become recognized, in some way or another, even for just a minute. For this reason, it is crucial for you to feature a write up which everyone can comprehend, not necessarily that these folks may relate to it but they will understand it.

2. Pictures speak a thousand words

To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it would be extremely nice if you can place some pictures in your posts. It doesn’t always mean you need to place a image of yourself. Any kind of pictures will do providing it doesn’t present a risk or insult to anybody that is going to be reading your blog.

3. Create helpful and rewarding blogs

Although you may be free to publish anything you want to say, it might be better to create some write-ups that will be good for your readers.

In the end, it may be better to offer relevant information instead of sheer quirky entertainment.

4. Stay away from creating complex and complicated blogs

To be able to have interesting blogs, try to never use highly technical words or phrases. After all, it isn’t a science discourse or a debate which you are creating. Better stay with simple facts and short blogs.

Keep in mind that many individuals who make use of the Internet usually do more scanning than reading each site word for word. For that reason, it might be better to come up with content which will not bore your readers simply because you’ve got these lengthy articles.

5. Help it become interactive

As much as possible, make your blog interactive. That can be done by adding some video or audio clips within your blog.

You possibly can even have an area for comments or for some feedback. That way, you can get the thoughts or reactions of your readers. Who knows, you might even acquire a number of friends simply by making them feel at home on your blog.

Without a doubt, blogs aren’t designed simply for the mere fun of it. It also offers a means of building an online business and generating a long term income.

There is one hard and fast rule in generating income for your website: A steady flow of website traffic. If no one goes to your site, you don’t stand a chance of generating an income. Many sites have tried and failed and in doing so, these sites don’t last very long. It takes money to maintain an income generating site, just like it takes money to make money.

BUT, it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.

Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries. This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites.

You don’t have to do this if you don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it.

Here are the Top five ways to generate low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic.

Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.

Traffic Exchange

This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours.

Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page. This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted.

Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself.

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

Make a Newsletter

This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.

As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums

This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site.

Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.
