Welcome to Part 5 of installing and tweaking your WordPress Blog.
Now that you have your new blog installed, tweaked, have added all the really cool plug-ins and have found the perfect theme that really makes it shine, what do you do when the server goes down and your blog is nowhere to be seen?
This presents a problem.
The thing you have to remember is there is going to be times when the server that you host your blog on is going to go down. It’s just a fact of the Internet. Sometimes it can be hardware failure, or the hard drive can fail, or the network can go down. It happens, but hopefully not very often. A good web hosting service will have the ability to get your site back on as quick as possible when something happens.

Since your blog will be the entry into your world on the Internet, the theme you use will speak volumes about who you are and what you do. That’s why it’s important to find one that will make a godd first impression. Kind of like the front walkway to your home.

Welcome to Part 3 of a 5 part video series on installing and tweaking a WordPress blog. Thsi video will show you how to install plug ins, where to find them and what and how they work.
To start with, WordPress plug ins are simple apps that are really the heart of a WordPress blog. For instance, the small Share button that is at the bottom of this blog post is a plug in. The Add to Any Share plug in adds a feature that allows blog readers to share blog posts on social media.
Most plug ins you will use are generally free. Some of the more advanced ones you will pay for. These are the ones that allow you to use your blog as an Amazon or Ebay store, a membership site, affiliate review site or whatever. The possibilities are endless. Read the rest of this entry

I am sure by now you already know how powerful a WordPress blog is as the platform for running your websites. The benefits are innumerable. They are easy to maintain with adding new content, you get the benefits of the search engines indexing fresh content and much more.
The problem for most people is how to set a blog up to even get started. They don’t have a problem once it’s up, but the technical aspect of the initial install can make you give up before you even get started. Of course you could always pay someone to install it for you, but I think it’s better to know how to do it yourself.
